Alan and Cheryl Gerrard - Joint Cultural Champions for Fenton
Alan & Cheryl Gerrard

“We feel privileged to represent our home town of Fenton as joint Cultural Champions of Stoke-on-Trent. Fenton’s long and strung out – a bit like Stoke-on-Trent in microcosm.”

“It has always been important to both of us that our city’s cultural offer be positively utilized to add value to the city’s regeneration. We are therefore keen to see Stoke-on-Trent’s unique selling points play a significant part in the city’s cultural strategy so that we can raise civic pride within the city boundaries, but also send out an irresistible, profile boosting message to our friends in the UK and beyond!”

Ten years ago Alan & Cheryl opened Theartbay Gallery and Fine Art Publishers in the outstanding commemorative setting of Fenton’s Albert Square. “Here we’ve championed the work of North Staffordshire’s artists and worked on numerous city wide projects – such as Lidice Lives which promotes the Stoke-on-Trent led Lidice Shall Live campaign – which seeks to raise aspirations at home and the profile of Stoke-on-Trent nationally and abroad.”
